At BCNLIP, we don’t just teach a language – we invite you to live it. Our unique methodology is rooted in total immersion, enabling learning to happen both inside and outside the classroom. Through a variety of activities, we seamlessly integrate the language into your daily life, creating meaningful and unforgettable experiences.
Every Friday, our workshops and immersion classes are tailored to four distinct levels
Basic - Live
Designed for beginners, this cycle guides you through your first steps in Spanish. It combines workshops on spelling, phonetics, and listening comprehension with practical activities to help you confidently navigate everyday situations.
Elementary - Express yourself
Here, we connect language with movement through body expression, complemented by phonetics and spelling workshops. This dynamic approach creates a richer learning experience, immersing you in both the language and its culture.
Intermediate - Join the Community
This level takes learning beyond the classroom, allowing you to explore Barcelona from within. Immerse yourself in its history, art, gastronomy, and traditions, fostering a deeper connection with the local culture.
Advanced - Discover
Immerse yourself further into the language and culture of Barcelona with specially designed activities for advanced-level students. Explore the city through immersive routes that bring its rich history and vibrant neighborhoods to life, and deepen your understanding of its cultural heritage with engaging art history workshops. These experiences are crafted to provide a profound connection to the local culture while advancing your language skills.
The immersive cycles are an essential part of our long-term intensive courses and are not offered as standalone options. Their cost is included in the fees for our 20-hour-per-week long-term programs.
Levels (Common European Framework of Reference)
At BCNLIP, you can select the program that best matches your current proficiency level, ensuring an effective and personalized Spanish learning experience. Each course is carefully designed to meet you where you are and guide you confidently to the next stage of your journey.
A1 - BEGINNER
Beginners can understand and use common, everyday expressions, such as those needed to address immediate needs. They can introduce themselves and others, as well as ask for and provide basic personal information about their home, belongings, and the people they know. Communication is possible in a simple manner when the other person speaks slowly and clearly and is willing to assist.
A2 - ADVANCED BEGINNER / ELEMENTARY
Advanced Beginners are able to understand frequently used phrases and expressions related to areas of experience that are especially relevant (basic information about oneself, family, shopping, interesting places, jobs, etc.).
They can communicate during simple tasks that only require simple and direct interactions regarding familiar and habitual topics.
They know how to describe in simple terms aspects of the past and the surrounding environment such as themes related to their immediate needs.
B1 - INTERMEDIATE
Intermediate students are able to understand the main points of texts written in standard language that discuss familiar themes such as work, studies and free time.
They know how to cope with the majority of situations that can arise during a trip to places where the language is spoken. They are able to produce simple and coherent texts about familiar themes or personal interests.
They can describe experiences, events, desires and aspirations and briefly justify their opinions and explain their plans.
B2 - UPPER INTERMEDIATE
Upper Intermediate students are able to understand the main ideas of complex texts that discuss both concrete and abstract themes even if they are technical in character as long as they fall in their area of specialization.
They can connect with native speakers with a sufficient degree of fluency and natural style so that the conversation flows without effort on the part of either speaker.
They can produce clear and detailed texts about diverse themes such as defending a point of view on a general theme, presenting the pros and cons of the different options.
C1 - ADVANCED
Advanced students are able to understand a wide variety of extensive and demanding texts and recognize their implicit meanings. They know how to express themselves in a fluid and spontaneous way without showing signs of effort to find the suitable expression.
They can use the language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. They can produce well-structured, clear and detailed texts about complex themes, showing correct use of organization, articulation and cohesion of the text.
C2 - MASTERY
Students are able to understand with ease practically all that they hear and read. They know how to reconstruct information and appropriate arguments from different sources whether it is spoken or written language and present it in a coherent and succinct way. They can express themselves spontaneously with great fluidity and precision, allowing them to distinguish small nuances of meaning even in very complex situations.
