Our methodology at BCNLIP
In Barcelona we speak two Latin languages: Catalan and Spanish. These two languages coexist in perfect harmony and it could be said that the Catalans are completely bilingual people. From abroad, sometimes it is thought that Barcelona is not a good place to learn Spanish, or they are completely unaware of Catalan and do not know that this is the native language of Catalonia. Consider that Catalan is the ninth language in Europe, the eighth on the Internet, and is an official language in Andorra and co-official with Spanish in 3 Spanish autonomous communities (Catalonia, Valencia, and the Balearic Islands).
We don’t just teach a language, we invite you to live it. Our unique methodology is based on total immersion, allowing learning to happen both inside and outside the classroom. We offer a variety of activities designed to integrate the language into your daily life, creating meaningful and memorable experiences.

Arraigo Social in Catalonia
Arraigo, or “rooting,” means ‘to take root’ in a place outside your country of origin; in other words, to integrate into a foreign country. A social roots report certifies your integration in Catalonia. Therefore, learning the local language and culture is essential. These courses aim not just to provide a certificate but to expand your knowledge and interest in the place where you are settling.
If you are a foreigner in Catalonia and struggle to communicate with Catalan people as you’d like, this course will help you integrate better. We focus on teaching oral Catalan for everyday life, enabling basic conversations.
If you were born in a non-Spanish-speaking country and are preparing your report for arraigo social, the Generalitat de Catalunya requires an official A1-level or higher certificate from the Department of Education, a competent public body, or authorized entities. If you lack these, you can certify 45 hours of training through a certificate issued by the Department of Education or another competent body like BCNLIP.
At the end of the course, we will issue a certificate of achievement, provided you attend all classes and meet the communicative objectives.

Our students
What I like most about BCNLIP are the teachers, I have studied here for over 10 months and I have different teachers, each and every one of them has their own method of study.
I love that the people in BCNLIP are fun, charismatic and smart, in this school we can go on excursions and hikes, sometimes we host parties and Good teachers..
I’m really happy at BCNLIP one of the most interesting things about the school is that we learn things that we really need to use every day. And immersion classes, ¡Are incredible and different!
